Here are some simple steps to take when you have unwanted sales calls from anyone other than neighborhood children under the age of 18.

1. Don’t open your door if you don’t know who is there.

2. Call the Concord Police Department non-emergency line, 704.920.5580 or 704.783.2218, information desk. Give them a description of the person (s) if possible. They will send out a patrol car and an officer will ask them to leave.

3. Call your neighbors, especially if they are elderly or home alone, and make them aware that a solicitor is headed in their direction.
